History
Founded in 1956 by Walter A. Maknis, General Heat Treating Company, Inc. (GHT) moved to its current location in 1967 and was incorporated under the laws of the State of Connecticut in 1978. Larry W. Maknis joined his father in 1974 and took over as plant manager in 1977. Upon Walter's retirement in 1983, Larry assumed the position of company president.
In 1999, GHT completed its last expansion and currently boasts 10,000 square feet of state of the art vacuum furnaces and an ultrasonic cleaner.
